Herstory Memoir Monday Recommendations

Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls, and Everything in Between by Lauren Graham

2018-11-03-17-58-04.jpgThere really is something about listening to Lauren Graham talk as fast as she can. I’ll admit right up front that I never really watched Gilmore Girls, but I’ve seen some episodes and get the general gist. The timing of the show and that my husband doesn’t want to watch it leaves it for a show to binge watch one day, hopefully in the not too distant future. I do love the premise and every single actor and actress in it that I’ve ever seen.

Graham, on the other hand, I knew relatively little about. Despite the tagline, the memoir does include life before Gilmore Girls. As celebrity memoirs go, it’s pretty entertaining. Graham reads the book herself and her humor and sass are pretty much my favorite. The diet advice section might be my favorite part of the whole book because, well, same.

It’s a pretty short audiobook, but that might have a lot to do with how fast she really can talk. It’s just over 4 hours. It perfect for anyone still looking for that celebrity memoir for Read Harder’s Task 12 this year, those who just love an entertaining memoir, and of course, fans of Gilmore Girls. Her account of returning to the set and seeing everyone and how everything went down is gorgeous. I borrowed the audiobook from my local library, but it can be found for purchase too from several locations through Goodreads. Just add it to your TBR while you’re there, it’s worth it.
